New Year, New Joys

Camille has been delighted with a new musical walker (well, she has to do the walking, which she's not quite yet doing, thankfully, but cruises, crawls, pulls up and occasionally falls down) she received from her Grandma & Grandpa. Thank you!

Holidaze in Review

As my last post suggested, life got a little crazy back in November and December but on the heels of 2 weeks "off" I'm slowing catching up. We've had more visitors, more milestones and more adventures in Kansas. Sadly, we weren't able to make it to see some very important people but we'll just have to look forward to seeing them in 2010! Ellen, Camille missed you! Aunt Caroline, we missed your delicious Christmas meal! Betsy, we missed seeing Minnie and I especially missed seeing Camille with another pooch, more her size. On the bright side, we had a great time in Lawrence with Gran and Granddad with all his toys! Eric and I even managed to make it to Yellow Sub -- yummy as ever. Thanks to everyone for making our holiday spirits bright!

As I type this, Eric is valiantly trying to give Camille bites of peas and after 2 spoonfuls, it's "ACHOOO!" And out come the peas. The behaviorist in me is saying, "we don't want to make this an aversive experience so maybe we should just wait until after the surgery (which by the way, has been scheduled for January 28th!) to increase the chance we'll have it be a positive experience!" The mom in me is saying, "how cute, he really is able to keep her face clean!" By her smiles and sqeals, she seems to be enjoying herself.

The following are a smorgasbord of fun!

From Grandma & Grandpa's visit in November:

Fun with Daddy at the Wheelers for Thanksgiving -- thanks again for such a great time!

Let's Go!

'Tis the Season! (Well, 'twas)

Happy Birthday, Zach!! We had so much fun at your party! (sorry the beer bottle was left in the picture!)

8 Months!

Already?! Camille is on the move...all of the time. She has been crawling for a while now and has learned a few other tricks along the way. Babyproofing/eyes-on supervision has begun and will likely be taken up a notch soon. Lately we've enjoyed visits from Gran (Grandad will come again soon) and Grandma and Grandpa (thanks for coming everyone!). We'll be in North Carolina this year for Thanksgiving and are putting travel plans for Christmas on hold until we know when Camille's cleft surgery will be. Fortunately we found out this last Wednesday that we might be able to schedule it for December! It will be so nice to have the day come when she can drink a bottle of milk without it coming out of her nose not to mention having her get back into the solids that she so enjoyed. She handles it all with such sweetness, sometimes a cry or two but for the most part, she just wipes her nose like it itches a bunch. What a trooper!

Waving to Mommy...

A light snack...

As I was saying...

Moving to higher ground...uh oh...

A little fun with Mommy (sorry it's so dark...the sound is the most important anyway)

Time for bed (with the bug-turned-teether) also, thank you to the person who invented the snuggly, flannel onesie with a zipper! Oh, we've done buttons and snaps all right but nothing is faster than zip!
